Oh yes, I've got a corker of a black eye today! The photo above was taken last night, the bruising has now spread around my eye quite a bit and looks worse than it is. What happened? I fell off the horse of course, whist trying to jump and landed on my EYE! I also ended up holding the horse's bridle, while he just looked down at me - all very strange, but there you go. But I guess I was lucky not to have broken my nose.
The best remedy for a black eye I discovered was curling up on the couch, by the fire, with Imogen and a glass of red wine - bliss.
This morning my neck, shoulders, upper arms and lower back are a bit stiff, but that hasn't stopped my lugging camera kit and recording machines about. No sympathy offered and actually no sympathy asked for, after all falling off the horse was my own fault.
Ah well, get up and get on with it that's what I say ....
